I ran across a picture in my personal files, the other day, and I thought to myself, "this picture is definitely worth 1,000 words, just like that expression says." So, I thought I'd put it into one of my daily blog postings (just the one picture, nothing more; no explanation), and then title my blog posting: "1,000 Words." The Sun magazine, incidentally, does have a regular "A Thousand Words" feature. If you're not aware of The Sun, I definitely recommend that you get acquainted.
When publishing a new blog posting, if I ever have any question in my mind about whether I have used a title before, I always check. Not only do I want to maintain my record of one blog posting every day (I have been doing it for more than fifteen years, to date), I also don't want to be repeating a title that I have used before. As It turned out, I have "been there, and done that," with respect to the thought I had about the picture I have just mentioned. I found that I have authored a number of past blog postings that are, basically, just a single photo, letting the picture speak for itself. One of those former blog postings of mine was titled, simply, "1,000 Words." Actually, two of them were, so I made a small change in the title of the second one!
The discovery that my proposed title for today's blog posting had already been used led me to change course, a bit, for today's blog posting. The first photo you will see, below, is the photo I just recently ran across in my personal photo files. The others are past examples from my earlier blog postings.
Sometimes, one single picture does speak volumes, which I believe all these pictures do. The pictures I am providing you are definitely worth many thousands of words apiece, all on their own.
I am not providing you any words to go with these pictures. I am letting them speak for themselves. You can think of this as a bargain. You get the message, and you don't have to read a bunch of my words, telling you all about it:
