#352 / An Era Of Change ... Or?

I enjoy reading the periodic email newsletter distributed by Resilience. Not every article is great, but I generally find that the newsletter is focused on the kind of things we need to be thinking about.

In the most recent newsletter, in an article titled, "Mapping the Emerging Post-Capitalist Paradigm and its Main Thinkers," I was advised that:

We do not live in an era of change, but in a change of eras.

This statement was attributed to Jan Rotmans from the University Rotterdam, where he is a professor in the field of "Transition Management."

I like the phrase, but do want to observe that if there is going to be any "change of eras," this is not a change that will happen automatically.

If we feel the need to "change eras," we're going to have to make that change ourselves.
