You may know the song in which you can find those lyrics I have made into my title. It's "Dear Landlord" and it's one of my favorites. You can click right here for the lyrics. If you click the next link, you can listen to Bob Dylan sing it.
The verse I like best is the last one:
Dear landlord
Please don’t dismiss my case
I’m not about to argue
I’m not about to move to no other place
Now, each of us has his own special gift
And you know this was meant to be true
And if you don’t underestimate me
I won’t underestimate you
This blog posting is being scheduled for a Sunday, so that should give you a hint as to who I think that "Dear Landlord" person actually is. And if we're talking about "underestimation" (always a good topic to consider), that is something that is mainly our problem, not the Landlord's. At least, that's my experience. My observation is that we tend to underestimate the Landlord, while we also underestimate ourselves, and that's certainly a mistake, whichever way we aim our underestimation!
Each of us does have some special gift,And sometimes we have more than one.Within this world, there's no boy or girl,Who ever ends up with none!
I think Bob would agree!
