On July 19th, in the blog posting I published that day, I alerted anyone who might be reading that blog posting of a website dedicated to the proposition that we should all be searching out, and joining, a "Civic Health Club." I continue to think that the website maintained by "Warm Cookies Of The Revolution" is worth your review.
Today, I have an additional suggestion, along the same lines. If you will click right here, you should be directed to the Netflix website, and to a film called, "Join Or Die." Of course, whether that link works for you, or doesn't, may depend upon your Netflix membership status. If you are a non-Netflix reader, and can't make that "click right here" link work for you, try clicking on the "Join Or Die" link. That link will get you to some information about the film - which is a serious documentary, looking at our loss of social cohesion, and I'd add political power, right here in the contemporary United States of America.
I found out about the "Join or Die" film from a Substack blog, After Babel," forwarded to me by a friend. Clicking that "After Babel" link is also recommended, and particularly if you would like to explore the idea that "joining up" with what amounts to a "civic health club" may have a determinative impact on your personal health, just as that "Join Or Die" title is asserting.
From my perspective, whether or not people "find some friends," and "join a club," will definitely have an impact on the "civic health" of the nation at large.
Join a Club. "Swing That Club." That's really how our system of democratic self-government is meant to work!
