#282 / Julie Andrews Sings That Song

World Revolution? For only $15.00 (or $25.00 for the hardcopy edition pictured) the Adbusters people will sell you a book to tell you how to do it. You may remember that Adbusters provided the spark that set off the Occupy Wall Street effort. They're still trying.

Somehow, I am reluctant to send off the $25.00 required to obtain a set of instructions that will help me contribute to the initiation of a World Revolution. I'd definitely want the actual book, not a PDF version - and I will say that a book that could help set off "World Revolution" might be a good book to buy. (At least, if it's the right kind of world revolution, as opposed to one based on more death, killing, and the same old, same old).

Here is a link to the Adbusters' pitch, promising the following:

With the most revolutionary tool ever invented in the palms of our hands, a mighty grassroots insurgency - borderless, leaderless, beyond Left and Right - is coming together in a last-ditch We-the-People stand.
The flocking signal is a radical set of ideas so fundamental, so systemic, so profound that a sane and sustainable future is unthinkable without them.
This is the Third Force.
We have the codes.

When I got the email from Adbusters with this "World Revolution" offer, I  couldn't help but remember the song that Julie Andrews sang in "My Fair Lady." Here she is, on The Dick Cavett show. You can listen to her sing that song, if you want. Just click on the YouTube link. Click the link to the song title, if you want to be reminded of the lyrics:

I don't know. Maybe I should buy that book!
