#242 / Greener Grass



The other day, I visited Salinas, to attend a meeting of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors. The County Government Center is located at the corner of West Alisal Street and Capitol Street. As I left the meeting, I happened to notice that the lawns on Capitol Street were looking quite green and healthy (as per the picture above). 

My own lawn, in Santa Cruz (as pictured below) is not quite so inspiring. 

We do, ultimately, depend on the natural resources provided by the World of Nature. Water is one of those resources. 

In view of the fact that California is now in the midst of the worst drought in its recorded history, query whether "pretty" should be a priority.
