Kevin Baker, writing in the October 2012 edition of Harper's, has the temerity to suggest that we should be "getting something" for our votes. What a concept! Among other things, he suggests that we should be getting some "follow through" from the political candidates for whom we vote. Not a bad idea!
Someone reading this blog over time may well have noticed my growing impatience with our current political situation (at the local, state, and national level). I am rereading On Revolution by Hannah Arendt.
The Baker article is titled "Why Vote?" It well expresses the kind of frustration I am feeling. I recommend it.
