#237 / Travel Advisory: NZ

I am seeing New Zealand in "tourist mode." I advise a different approach. Driving in New Zealand means driving on the "wrong" side of the road, but it's clear to me that if you want to see New Zealand, you should rent a car and drive around.

Be prepared for lots of sheep. And cows.

I do want to say, though, in defense of the "tourism" approach, that I doubt I would ever have seen the glow worm caves at Waitomo had I not been taken there on a tourist bus. And I am glad I didn't miss this amazing place.

You can learn more about the glow worm caves, and visit the website where this picture came from, by clicking the link.

Glow worms aside, however, I recommend the self-guided approach!
