Rather recently in my life, I have been doing a lot of traveling. In fact, I am doing some traveling now. Since August 14th, when I left home, I have been in Fiji, and in New Zealand, and am now in Australia (last stop before coming home again). The picture is from the 2010 trip my wife and I took "around the world," and specifically from the very first stop on that trip, in Hawaii.
I have found that actually experiencing the incredible variety of the natural world into which we have been so privileged to be born, is inspiring to my sense that we need to impose limits on our own desires to "make it better," and to "make it ours."
We belong to the natural world. It doesn't belong to us.
