#81 / Teachout Teach-In

I came of age in a time of Teach-ins. Teach-ins taught me about the War in Vietnam, and stimulated me to actions to oppose that war. Teach-ins had that same effect on lots of other people, too. 

Pictured above is Zephyr Teachout. She is an Associate Professor at Fordham University School of Law, and in 2014 she ran a very credible campaign to become Governor of New York.

Here is a quote from a recent article based on an interview with Teachout:

Ultimately, Teachout’s political initiatives converge in their message—that the American people can seize back the reins of power from the monolithic encroachment of corporate interests. Teachout holds the belief that individuals want to be engaged with policy, and if given the chance, they will make their voices heard.
