#335 / I Seem To Have A Gloomy View Of Life

This picture illustrates a recent opinion piece in The New York Times. It is titled "Is This The End?" I posted the piece to Facebook when I first saw it. I know I am going to be accused of having too gloomy a view of life. As some of my friends routinely advise me, "it's just not very motivating, Gary."

I know it. 

I admit it. 

My name is Gary Patton, and I am addicted to gloom. 

It may not take the full twelve-step program to turn my life around. I keep remembering Lucy's advice to Charlie Brown, in her five-cent psychiatrist's office: "Snap out of it."

Actually, that seems like pretty good advice.
