#313 / LandWatch

LandWatch Monterey County is a community-based, nonprofit organization that seeks to promote and inspire sound land use policies through grassroots community action.

I was the first Executive Director of LandWatch, and I am still connected. In fact, today I am attending the annual LandWatch fundraising event, held in Monterey. The LandWatch office, by the way, is in Salinas.

I still remember the very first meeting I attended on behalf of LandWatch (which at that time was a very new organization). It was a public hearing on a water-related topic, and when I introduced myself to someone in the audience, after the meeting, the person I talked to said this: "LandWatch? Well, you better stop watching, and actually do something!"

That's good advice for all of us, LandWatch members or not.

If you are not going to be at the LandWatch lunch, but want to donate, all you have to do is click right here!
