#269 / Penny University

The Penny University I am thinking about is not a coffee house in London, which is where that "Penny University" name originated

The Penny University I am thinking about is the Penny University located in Santa Cruz, California. This is a free wheeling and open to the public discussion group that has been meeting for more than thirty years. Begun by UCSC faculty members Paul Lee, Page Smith, and Mary Holmes, the Penny University is a long standing tradition in Santa Cruz, and currently gathers each Monday afternoon, starting up between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m., in the Fireside Room of the Calvary Episcopal Church. The church is located at 532 Center Street in downtown Santa Cruz. That's right across Lincoln Street from the Nickelodeon Theatre, and across Cedar Street from the downtown Farmers' Market, if that helps provide any necessary directional guidance.

This evening (September 26, 2011), I'll be there, holding forth on my Two Worlds Hypothesis (I bet), among other things.

You are invited.
