202 / Says Joe, "I Didn't Die"

I saw an extraordinary video the other night, one of Pete Seeger's Rainbow Quest television programs from 1967. Besides Pete himself, this one featured the New Lost City Ramblers and the Greenbrier Boys.

Pete celebrated Joe Hill (life without end), and wove a golden thread with the fine needle of his music, piercing my heart, binding me fast.

Pete's rendition of Festival of Flowers with the Greenbrier Boys is a not to be missed evocation of the poignancy and beauty of life itself:

I'll remember this day forever -
Our festival of flowers.
Those short moments in our lifetime
When we were one with nature.
