They just reflect the larger forces that more and more control our society, and the world. As Gary know, I am a politician in recovery (as is he) and personally experienced the corrosive power of money to shift public opinion and political action towards self-serving ends. I have coined the phrase "corporate plutocracy" to describe our country's (and most of the world's) current political system. Unfortunately, that system has, in general, a short-sighted perspective. While a few corporation have become alarmed about the approaching apocalypse, many, including almost all the energy producing sector, continue to pooh-pooh climate change or make a pretense of concern while continuing our headlong rush towards the precipice. I more and more fear that it's already too late. stuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13232190882052091459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3611639517962742486.post-45838321006461337952016-11-03T10:56:33.279-07:002016-11-03T10:56:33.279-07:00Good commentary, Gary.
Looking back from 80 years...Good commentary, Gary.
Looking back from 80 years, I find it increasingly difficult to stay optimistic. Honestly, no one gains power honestly, and no one governs, either from elected office or the corporate suite, outside the scope of their limited integrity.
I hope that I've missed something, but I fear greatly, and feel awful, for our children's children.JDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16364295666246464521noreply@blogger.com
