#270 / Suspicious

Hey, no need to "report" suspicious activity! The government is taking care of that for us. Read some details in a story on "antiterrorism" that appeared in the Friday, September 20th edition of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The article is particularly informative in letting us know just what our government thinks such "suspicious" activities include:

  • Middle Eastern males buying "pallets of water."
  • A woman taking a picture of a post office in Folsom, California.
  • A Middle Eastern man applying for a pilot's license in Sacramento.
  • Middle Eastern men taking pictures of a federal courthouse.

These incidents are included in the 1,800 "Suspicious Activity Reports" obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Asian Law Caucus from joint federal-state law enforcement centers in Sacramento and Los Angeles between June 2010 and June 2012.

The world we create can conform to whatever standards and rules we want to establish or permit. So, with respect to our "suspicions" that "terrorism" is a constant threat, do we all feel better now?

Just watch where you point that iPhone, friend.
