#84 / When In Instanbul

In Istanbul, I found the Blue Mosque the most impressive sight, even more so than the Hagia Sofia. This is definitely saying something.

In a report seemingly more mundane, I also recommend a visit to the "sweets shop" Hafiz Mustafa. One of its locations is also pictured. Hafiz Mustafa has been in business since 1864, and may it continue to exist forever, Insha'Allah. The pastries and candies it sells do partake of the divine - and this is coming from someone who doesn't "do" candy. My picture shows a shop near the Hodjapasha Culture Center, where we saw Whirling Dervishes (and where belly dancing presentations are also given), but there is at least one other store, too, close to the Spice Bazar, which is another "must see" destination in Istanbul.
