#129 / Horatio

Our political world is a group creation, but there are definitely times when one person, standing fast, can make the difference.

I still remember the thrill I felt, as a young boy, when I first read the poem, Horatio At The Bridge.

Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:

And the temples of his Gods ..."
In the California State Legislature, forces are mobilizing to destroy or undermine the power of the California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA. Confronting the throngs of politically potent special interests gathered to attack, even the strongest supporters of CEQA are looking for some means of entreaty, some way to help this vital and beleaguered law survive.

I cannot help but hope: stand fast.
CEQA is like a wall that, once weakened, even with a small and minor breach, will ultimately fall.
