One of my most treasured books is A Pattern Language, first published in 1977 and actually the second in a trilogy that begins with The Timeless Way of Building.These books are architecture, psychology, sociology, and design ... and more beyond that. Nowadays, of course, there is a website, and a group of consultant practitioners.
