#45 / Urbanism

Can the cities save us? The San Francisco Chronicle headlined their review of Peter Calthorpe's newest book with the title "City of Hope." (At www.gapatton.net you can click on the image to get a reference to the book).

Calthorpe takes for granted that we are in charge of building the world we most immediately inhabit. And we'd better build differently, he suggests, if we want the world of Nature, upon which we ultimately depend, to survive.
